Ort Can

This needlepoint canvaswork design is sewn to a can to hold orts. Orts are the little thread ends that are snipped off while stitching. Twisted cording decorates the edges of the design. Design by David McCaskill

WIP "By The Sea" #2

Detail:

Entire piece, work-in-progress:

This is about three weeks of stitching on this piece. It's definitely more abstract than a lot of things I stitch. I am really enjoying the gentle colors and my laying tool is getting a workout.

WIP "By The Sea"

I started this piece last week - it is a line drawn canvas and the stitch guide is pretty thorough - although it came out in 2000 so the stitch diagrams are hand-drawn old style!

It's coming along!

Detail- the purple ribbon has a couched edge added later and the purple diagonal is in-progress.

Frame Weight Finishing...

This square design was finished into a frame weight. It could also be used as a pin cushion. The weight has a 1" side like a box cushion. Red velveteen was requested and it matches the red tassel in the design. Custom twisted cording accents to top edge in colors that match the background and the velveteen.
